PRN MHT - Adolescent Unit
About The Position
The Mental Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in ages from adolescents through geriatrics. All MHT’s work under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Valle Vista Health System is a 132-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in the beautiful community of Greenwood, IN. Valle Vista Health System features individual units for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. On average, over 10,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Valle Vista Health System. Valle Vista Health System is proud to be a teaching facility that supports local nursing students through our dedicated and tenured nursing team.
Requirements
- A mandatory 2-week orientation class is required.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 21 and over.
- Minimum one (1) year(s) of related patient care experience.
- May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Nursing Assistant
- Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, or appropriate therapeutic discipline highly desirable.
- Previous experienced and knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness.
