About The Position
Baptist Health is hiring a Mental Health Technician for its Behavioral Health Unit at Baptist Medical Center in Downtown Jacksonville. The technician provides patient care that supports safety, comfort, and a therapeutic environment under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This is a full-time night position, scheduled from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. A sign-on bonus of up to $500 is offered for full-time night positions. CPI certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Experience in one or more of the listed backgrounds: less than one year of Mental Health Technician experience, Nursing Assistant experience, or Corpsman experience.
- Obtain CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Associate of Science degree.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care that considers safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Document observations on assigned patients and communicate relevant information about patients’ conditions.
- Assist with patient education groups and total milieu supervision.
- Assist with admissions and discharges as assigned.
