About The Position

Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking Per Diem Mental Health Technicians for its night shift position. This role involves providing a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients, assisting with basic patient care and recovery needs under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Mental Health Technician will document interventions, provide group and individual interaction with patients, and adhere to established treatment guidelines and agency policies.

Requirements

High school or equivalent education
Registered Nursing Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant – must have active to apply
Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Food Handler’s Permit through Washington State
Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor within 90 days of hire
One (1) year of direct patient care experience in mental health

Responsibilities

Follow direction and assignments of the Registered Nurse
Perform patient checks, CO / SP rounds, 1:1s
Take vital signs (Daily Weights/Input and output) and enter into Epic
Alert RN of anything abnormal
Conduct patient safety searches (per routine and prn) and room searches
Monitor Meals and collect flatware
Assist with patient hygiene when required
Clean washer, dryer, phones and tables
Ensure detailed hand off to include special precautions to oncoming shift
Check security of doors to offices, seclusion room and closets are locked (night tech)
Check dryer screen and remove lint after each load of laundry; maintain washer/dryer log
Check all sharp items used at shower time back in
Communicate respectfully with patients and family members, utilizes motivational interviewing
Respect all diversity including cultural
Provide supportive interactions per patient needs
Perform assigned groups and document
Notify nurse of any change in patient presentation, behavior or condition
