About The Position

The Mental Health Technician provides compassionate patient care and support as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. Responsibilities include monitoring and documenting patient behavior, communicating observations to nursing staff, assisting with patient needs and emergencies, and helping maintain a safe, supportive therapeutic environment. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides compassionate, direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the CNA supports patients’ comfort and personal needs, assists with delegated care, responds to emergencies, and maintains accurate documentation. The role requires strong teamwork, adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and support other units when needed.

Requirements

  • Medical terminology
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Current certification as a nursing assistant
  • Successful completion of a CNA program

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year experience in behavioral health unit preferred
  • Knowledge of safety measures
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • CNA preferred
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
