About The Position

This position provides program direction and supervision to professional and paraprofessional staff working in directly operated services in their program area(s). Provides consultation and administrative direction to contracted service providers and agencies in their program area(s). Functions as a member of the Agency’s management team. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services-related field.
  • Three to five years progressive experience working with persons with mental health disabilities in a mental health service setting(s).
  • Understanding of the concept of treatment in the least restrictive setting, person centered planning process, and managed care concepts.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
  • Possession of a valid Michigan’s driver’s license.
  • Ability to utilize computer equipment and information systems.
  • Requires high level of visual concentration and attention to detail in regards to data, documents, planning, and communication.
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with persons served, staff, and the general public.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle.

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides daily program supervision in directly operated services.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates professional and paraprofessional staff for their program area(s).
  • Provides administrative direction and oversight of contracted professionals in assigned service areas.
  • Assists staff and contractual personnel in providing direct treatment services.
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining accurate and timely clinical records, compliant with Agency and other regulatory bodies and standards.
  • Participates in policy and program planning, development, and evaluation.
  • Participates in collaborative inter- and intra-agency communication and planning.
  • Provides direct treatment services as necessary.
  • Writes and speaks effectively.
  • Participates and provides leadership on Agency and Region 10 Prepaid Inpatient Health Plan workgroups and committees as necessary.
  • Compiles and prepares reports as assigned.
  • Assists in the orientation of professional staff, support staff, and students and volunteers.
  • Participates in training and continuing education opportunities as appropriate.
  • Participates in educational presentations and marketing effort to the community.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
