Mental Health Specialist - Adult Outpatient - Bilingual Required
About The Position
Linn County Mental Health is recruiting for an experienced mental health therapist to work with adult consumers who experience a range of symptoms including PTSD, depression, and anxiety. The person filling this position should be skilled in assessment, individual and group therapy, case management and consultation. Candidates should have familiarity with Evidence Based Practice and have excellent case management and therapy skills. Must be willing to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and follow documentation requirements in accordance with the Oregon Administrative Rules and department policies and procedures. Upgraded skills in medical management information systems to support clinical work would be desired. Travel between work sites may be necessary.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field is required.
- Must be able to pass a criminal history check and possess or obtain a valid Oregon driver's license with an acceptable driving record that meets the County's requirements.

Nice To Haves
- Professional or supervised practicum-level experience in providing similar services to persons with similar problems or concerns is desirable but not required (for Mental Health Specialist 1).
- Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the work described may be acceptable (for Mental Health Specialist 1).
- Two years post Master's Degree supervised experience in a similar position (for Mental Health Specialist 2).
- Oregon licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (for Mental Health Specialist 2).
- Upgraded skills in medical management information systems to support clinical work would be desired.
Responsibilities
- Perform client evaluations and record them in the client's chart.
- Develop individual treatment or habilitation plans.
- Provide leadership and represent the department at inter-agency habilitation staff meetings.
- Provide education, technical assistance and consultation to other service providers.
- Provide information to prospective clients and the general public about the services available through this department and by other community agencies.
- Provide client services and complete documentation of the services provided in accordance with department policies and Oregon Administrative Rules.
- Provide individual, group and family therapy.
- Provide after-hours emergency crisis intervention services to individuals and consultation and support to other community agencies.
- Provide pre-commitment investigations of persons alleged to be mentally ill and recommend to the court whether a civil commitment hearing is warranted.
- Develop and maintain effective, harmonious and reasonable work relationships with others.
- Maintain regular and predictable work attendance.
