About The Position

Gardner Health Services is recruiting for Mental Health Specialist, Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist, and Mental Health Therapist I positions within the Forensic, Diversion & Reintegration Program. These are full-time, 40-hour/week roles in the Adult/Older Adult Division of Gardner's Behavioral Health Department, based in San Jose, CA. Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, the positions provide assessments, group, and individual psycho-social services to justice-involved clients in the CBT Probation Program. Services may include family counseling and crisis management support, specifically for non-violent, non-serious, and non-sex offenders impacted by Assembly Bill (AB) 109. The goal is to provide intensive treatment and support to enable successful community reintegration.

Requirements

MHS: BA degree and at least three (3) years of experience and/or AA degree plus five (5) years of relevant experience.
MHRS: BA degree plus four (4) years relevant experience and/or AA degree plus six (6) years’ experience and obtain a mental health rehabilitation specialist counselor certification from the County of Santa Clara.
MHT I: Master’s degree plus registered with the California Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) as MFTI or ASW and have obtained an effective Waiver of Licensure from the Santa Clara Dept. of Mental Health.

Responsibilities

Provide assessments, group, and individual session related psycho-social services to justice system involved clients in the CBT Probation Program.
May need to provide counseling to the family at times.
Provide crisis management support.
