We invite you to partner with us in our mission to improve mental healthcare. The Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) is a place where people experiencing a mental health crisis can go to be stabilized. These facilities operate 24/7 to provide crisis stabilization. The CSU will help clients to stabilize and will also provide referrals to other needed services. Transportation is provided as needed.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related mental health field.
  • Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an Associate (AMFT, ACSW, or APCC).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid California Driver’s License with a driving record that meets company eligibility policies.
  • First Aid certification from an approved provider (such as the American Red Cross) or the ability to obtain it upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervision for BBS hours for AMFT, ACSW, and APCC professionals (where applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Assesses clients at start of treatment (reviews as needed), develops and maintains treatment plans, and conducts family collateral and discharge planning.
  • Discusses goals and objectives of proposed treatment plans and establishing a contract with the consumer.
  • Interviews consumers to team with mental health professionals in determining the needs of individuals or groups on a walk-in/telephone basis.
  • Responds to potential suicide or other emergency events.
  • Visits clients, individually or as part of a team, in a variety of living situations, to help assess the mental health needs of individuals and families, observe progress, provide counseling, gather data, and report significant changes in the client's condition to designated professional staff.
