About The Position

Easterseals is seeking a Mental Health Residential Counselor to support people living with mental illness and developmental disabilities. The role supports consumers in achieving measurable outcomes, coordinates supportive services based on individual needs, and provides services according to Individual Rehabilitation Plans. It also involves medication education and monitoring, responding to consumer concerns, and completing accurate documentation in an electronic health record. The position is full time, overnight from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Monday through Friday, in Warren County.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mental health or human services; or a combination of one or more years of college and related life or work experience totaling four years; or a high school diploma or GED plus four years of related work or life experience.
• Intermediate computer experience and the ability to learn new computer programs.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility and compassion when working with consumers.

Responsibilities

• Support consumers in achieving measurable outcomes and addressing new and ongoing care challenges.
• Adhere to Adult Mental Health Rehabilitation Services (AMHRS) standards.
• Respond promptly to consumer complaints and grievances to support high consumer and customer satisfaction.
• Educate and monitor consumers regarding medications, observe medication logs, and complete monthly medication audits.
• Coordinate supportive services based on consumer needs.
• Provide high-quality services in accordance with Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRPs).
• Document services accurately and within required timeframes, following policies and procedures and using the electronic health record.
