As a Partner in Wellbeing, the Mental Health Rehab Worker, under the direction of the mental health professional or practitioner, provides rehabilitative services to adults with mental illness or children with emotional disturbance in the form of instruction, support, and assistance for the purpose of promoting psychiatric stability, social competencies, personal and emotional adjustments, and independent living skills. Duties include completing functional assessments and level of care assessments, education on mental health issues, completing crisis screeners and various screening tools, providing coping skills education and modelling, prompting, and observing clients to meet their activities of daily living. Mental Health Rehab Workers, under the oversight, direction, and evaluation of a mental health professional or practitioner, may provide rehabilitative mental health services to an adult client according to the client’s treatment plan.
