About The Position
This position involves providing nursing care to individuals residing in the Oregon State Hospital, a forensic psychiatric facility. Responsibilities include administering medications, developing nursing care plans, conducting assessments, and responding to emergent psychiatric situations. The role also entails monitoring staff work assignments and supervising staff to ensure a therapeutic, safe, and secure milieu. The specific unit is Lighthouse 3, serving a female patient population within the Harbors Program, which handles acute patients requiring stabilization, admission, or those unable to have a roommate. This is a fast-paced environment with higher staffing ratios due to patient acuity, demanding critical thinking, multitasking, and time management skills. There are frequent admissions and restrictive events, but also strong team collaboration and interdisciplinary support.
Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a valid and unencumbered Oregon Professional Registered Nurse license during the entire length of their employment.

Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to individuals residing in the Oregon State Hospital.
