About The Position

The Mental Health Provider will provide independent clinical assessments on an as-needed basis when concerns are identified through screening tools in an upcoming study. The provider will serve in a consulting and support capacity and is not required to participate as a study investigator. Assessments will be requested as needed.

Requirements

• Hold an active, unrestricted Florida professional license as a Psychiatrist, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), or other qualified mental health provider.
• Have experience evaluating suicidal ideation and suicide risk and determining the appropriate level of care.
• Be familiar with the C-SSRS, PHQ-8/PHQ-9, or similar validated mental health assessment tools.
• Be able to accommodate assessments within a reasonably prompt timeframe when requested.

Responsibilities

• Conduct timely clinical assessments triggered by study screening tools, including PHQ-8 and/or C-SSRS results.
• Evaluate participants for potential suicide risk or other mental health concerns identified during study visits.
• Provide independent clinical assessments and appropriate recommendations based on professional judgment.
• Clearly document assessments and recommendations in the participant’s medical or research record, as appropriate.
• Facilitate or recommend referrals for additional mental health care or emergency evaluation when clinically indicated.
• Coordinate with the clinical research site regarding scheduling and completion of requested assessments while maintaining appropriate patient confidentiality.
