About The Position

The Children & Family Advocacy Center (CFAC) in Little Flock, AR, is dedicated to empowering individuals and families impacted by trauma by providing comprehensive services in a supportive and trauma-informed environment. Our team works together to provide advocacy, mental health counseling, forensic interviewing, medical exams, and residential programming for women and children. We also have a full administrative team who oversees Operations, Development, and Community Relations. Counseling sessions at our organization are available for the client and any (non-offending) family members in need of our services. To continue offering these comprehensive services we are expanding our Mental Health Department and adding another Mental Health Provider to the team. This role is crucial in our commitment to on-going, individualized, trauma-informed services. The Mental Health Provider will lead individual and group therapy sessions, including pre-assessment and ongoing planning, for women, children, and families, addressing trauma, abuse, domestic violence, and emotional well-being using evidence based methods to ensure effective outcomes. This collaborative role will work closely with our Enrichment Specialist and Residential Support Specialist to assist in the implementation of workshops on mental health, trauma recovery, and personal empowerment for clients and staff. Additionally, this role will also maintain a close relationship with our Multi-Disciplinary Team (social workers, case managers, medical staff) to coordinate continued care and provide case reviews.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Relevant licensure (e.g., LPC, LCSW) required.
  • Experience providing counseling or therapeutic services to children, families, and individuals affected by trauma, abuse, or domestic violence.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases effectively, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, ethical standards, and the mission of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead individual and group therapy sessions, including pre-assessment and ongoing planning, for women, children, and families, addressing trauma, abuse, domestic violence, and emotional well-being using evidence based methods to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Work closely with our Enrichment Specialist and Residential Support Specialist to assist in the implementation of workshops on mental health, trauma recovery, and personal empowerment for clients and staff.
  • Maintain a close relationship with our Multi-Disciplinary Team (social workers, case managers, medical staff) to coordinate continued care and provide case reviews.
  • Offer emotional and practical support, advocating for clients within the program and community resources.
  • Manage crisis situations with sensitivity, providing immediate support and developing safety plans.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
