About The Position

The County of Washington Behavioral Health & Developmental Services Department is seeking applicants for the position of Mental Health Program Specialist 2. Requirements

  • One year as a County Mental Health Program Specialist 1; or Three years of professional level experience in the field of mental health; and a bachelor's degree; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals with complex needs by guiding service planning and crisis response
  • Work with providers, courts, hospitals, and county partners to resolve issues and improve care
  • Review information, analyze outcomes, and prepare reports that track service delivery
  • Monitor programs, assist with licensing reviews, and help ensure quality standards are met
  • Engage specialty populations and help organize trainings that strengthen community knowledge
  • Assess urgent situations and verify that proper steps are taken to protect participant welfare
