About The Position

We are seeking qualified candidates for the Mental Health Professional (On-Call) position, which supports individuals in a residential setting experiencing a mental health crisis who do not pose an immediate risk to their own safety or the safety of others. The MHP develops and implements individual program plans, coordinates and arranges specialized services, and provides counseling and crisis intervention support. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to : Providing support in a residential setting to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis who do not pose an immediate risk to their own safety or the safety of others. Develop and implement individual program plans, coordinate and arrange specialized services, and provide counseling. Provide crisis intervention support. Receives general and regular supervision from the Program Director. Provides clinical supervision and guidance to Crisis Workers. Other Responsibilities, but not all-inclusive: Provide direct clinical services, including individual supportive counseling and psychoeducation, to individuals, in groups, and with family. Conduct a comprehensive assessment of psychiatric history, mental status, diagnosis, physical and dental health; use of drugs or alcohol, education and employment, social development and functioning; and activities of daily living (e.g., living situation, nutrition, money management). Provides service coordination and support to individuals, focusing on each person's personal and treatment goals; Assumes primary responsibility for developing, implementing, evaluating, and revising overall treatment goals and plans in collaboration with the individual. Provides supportive therapy and symptom management. Advocates for individuals’ rights and preferences.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or Education, and 3 years of mental health direct care experience, or a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of mental health direct care experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a focused team.
  • Skills and competence to establish supportive, trusting relationships with persons with severe and persistent mental illness and respect for client rights and personal preferences in treatment are essential.
  • Knowledge of mental health systems and supports.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
