The primary role of this position is to provide administrative and clinical leadership/management of the Behavior Supports Department of Pee Dee Regional Center. The position is responsible for the organization, administration, and supervision of the various functions of mental health professional staff and clinical counselors across all duties and programs as well as overseeing recruitment and retention of mental health professionals and clinical counselors; maintaining a clinical caseload; presiding over department meetings and HRC meetings; participating in assigned committees; and providing clinical leadership with regards to program development, quality improvement, and staff clinical training. Provides direct oversight of the development, monitoring and administration of behavioral treatment plans and interventions for those with assessed needs. Reviews and modifies existing treatment plans accordingly based on consumer needs and/or updated assessments. Provides clinical supervision and guidance to assigned mental health professionals and clinical counselors. Provides on-going feedback to encourage the growth, development and retention of mental health professionals and clinical counselors. Coordinates the functions of the Human Rights Committee, ensuring on-going compliance with agency and regulatory requirements related to consents for interventions and protection of consumer rights. Serves as a secondary examiner for assigned forensic evaluations. Reviews and responds to primary forensic examiner regarding completed written forensic evaluations in a timely manner. May be required to testify in court regarding assigned cases. Routinely reviews and updates any facility procedures and practices to ensure continuous compliance with agency directives related to the use of behavioral interventions, psychotropic medications, and restrictive techniques, devices, or practices. Additional duties as assigned. The position for this posting is located at Pee Dee Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Florence, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Requirements
- A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field and professional experience in a mental health, human service or social service program.
Nice To Haves
- A master's degree in applied psychology from an accredited college or university and experience in the practice of applied psychology.
