Under limited supervision, this position assists Behavioral Support Services in offering therapeutic services to our consumers, including individual therapy, trial based sessions, and group sessions. Assists with writing, implementing, and in-servicing staff on Behavior Support Plans as well as in responding to crisis after hours. Builds rapport with consumers in order to maintain and modify individually identified targeted behaviors. Assists the department in creating and revising Behavior Support Plans based on consumers' needs. Assists with the training of staff in order to ensure understanding and proper implementation of individual Behavior Support Plans. Covers after hour needs every 7 weeks, assisting staff in crisis and responding to suicide ideation or attempts as needed. Maintains monthly progress notes for designated buildings. Documents sufficient data for use during individual consumer behavior meetings and Psychotropic drug reviews. Attends meetings as necessary to assist Mental Health Professional IIs as well as provides representation for Behavior Support Services at meetings as needed. The position for this posting is located at Whitten Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Clinton, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
