Mental Health Professional II / ACT Program (Camden- Santee-Wateree)
About The Position
Join our team at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD) where we are dedicated to providing compassionate and accessible care to our community. We are seeking a Mental Health Professional II who is motivated to help individuals and families navigate life's challenges and achieve long-term wellness. This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Santee-Wateree MHC, 2611 Liberty Hill Rd., Camden, 29020. You will lead an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team providing evidenced based services in an intensive non-residential treatment and rehabilitative services in accordance with the fidelity model. This is a single fixed point of responsibility for treatment, rehabilitation, and support needs for patients with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) who have not been well supported in lower level of care options.
Requirements
- A master's degree in guidance counseling or the social sciences or a related field and professional experience in a mental health, human services, or social service program.
- Must be licensed as licensed Psychologist, LISW-CP, LPC, or LMFT.
- Three (3) years' experience working with adults diagnosed with serious and persistent mental illness and a minimum of two (2) years post graduate experience.
- Ability to lift 5lbs.
- Ability to operate a state vehicle.
Nice To Haves
- Bi-lingual abilities in English and Spanish (or other language) are a plus.
- Experience working with adults with Serious Mental Illness.
- Practical therapeutic knowledge of principles, methods and counseling practices and procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of serious and persistent mental illness.
- An ability to listen and understand and communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.
- Knowledge of psychopathology, family dynamics, family, and group psychotherapy.
- Ability to identify and effectively utilize resources available in the community to accomplish objectives.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, families, and representatives of other professional disciplines.
- Ability to present clear and comprehensive oral and written reports.
- Ability to organize and manage time.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the administrative operations of the team.
- Provide clinical oversight of services ensuring patients are seen in accordance with their needs and the delivery of best and ethical practices.
- Provide direct services to ACT service beneficiaries.
- Ensure services are documented in accordance with CARF, SCOMH, SWMHC/QA Corporate Compliance HIPAA, Transcultural, and Productivity Standards, Policies and procedures, and requirements.
- Provide direct supervision to ACT team members to include but not limited to facilitating clinical supervision meetings, treatment team meetings, coordinating training for team and completing evaluations.
- Ensure a department commitment to cultural affairs and ensures all direct reports have a cultural affairs component to his or her planning document as a measurable objective.
- Comply with Corporate Compliance Policy and Risk Management Plan and ensures timely completion of prior authorizations.
- Pursue professional development through collegial consultation, continuing education, and licensure.
