About The Position

The Mental Health Professional II will provide administrative and clinical supervision for the School Mental Health Program. This role requires the ability to supervise and address program concerns, potentially off-site via phone or email. The position is considered essential and may require recall during crises or emergencies. Employees must provide administrative supervision of direct reports, including performance reviews, leave approval, and staff meetings. They will also monitor program compliance with DMH benchmarks and ensure staff meet patient care hour expectations. Clinical supervision involves conducting and documenting supervision sessions, incorporating QA information, assisting staff with crises, and supporting evidence-based practices. The role includes providing backup and leadership to the program director and other coordinators in their absence. Compliance with all corporate policies, regulations, statutes, and laws is mandatory. Employees must maintain SCEIS training and complete annual cultural competency training. Professional development through consultation, continuing education, and licensure is encouraged. Licensure supervision for OMH employees is also a responsibility.

Requirements

  • May require off-site meetings with limited (local) travel.
  • Available to supervise and address program concerns, if necessary, when off-site, through phone and/or email contact.
  • Ability to lift 5lbs and operate a state vehicle.
  • Position is considered essential and be called back during crises/disasters/emergencies.
  • In order to be credentialed for core services as a Mental Health Professional at the SC Office of Mental Health, applicants must provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care.
  • This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clinical supervision for the School Mental Health Program.
  • Provide administrative supervision of direct reports.
  • Perform annual reviews and complete planning stages for all supervisees within specified guidelines.
  • Monitor and approve staff leave time ensuring program coverage at all times.
  • Conduct and document regular staff meetings and attend supervisors' meetings.
  • Relay all relevant center and agency information to staff in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and ensure program compliance with DMH benchmarks for community MH services and overall continuity of care.
  • Maintain and report program data on a monthly basis to specified members of senior management team.
  • Ensure all program staff are knowledgeable of and meet patient care hours expectations for clinical services in compliance with LCCMHC Patient Care Hours Policy.
  • Provide clinical supervision.
  • Regularly conduct and document clinical supervision with program staff, incorporating relevant QA information by monitoring and evaluating staff documentation/chart work/overall clinical care.
  • Assist with program staff crises and maintain availability to staff for clinical consultation or ethical dilemmas.
  • Support use of EBPs, and encourage and direct staff participation in learning collaboratives or other specialized training.
  • Provide back up and support to program director, crises team, and other program coordinators in their absence with authority and leadership.
  • Comply with all corporate compliance policies, regulations, statutes (feral, state, local, SCOMH) or laws regulating the provision of health care.
  • Maintain SCEIS training and complete one additional hour of cultural competency training per year, completing all modules prior to June 30th.
  • Pursue professional development through collegial consultation, continuing education and licensure.
  • Provide licensure supervision to OMH employees.
