About The Position

This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Aiken Barnwell Mental Health Center, 1135 Gregg Highway, Aiken, SC 29801. The Mental Health Professional II / Chief / Intensive & Community Program (Aiken) will provide leadership and management of the Individual Placement Supported Employment Program, Navigate First Episode of Psychosis Program, Intensive Community Treatment, Housing, and Peer Support ensuring that programs and services meet fidelity to model and quality services are provided to patients.

Requirements

  • A Masters’ degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences or a related field and professional experience in a mental health, human service, or social service program.
  • Must be licensed in SC or if unlicensed working towards licensure within 6 months of hire date.
  • One year of supervisory experience.
  • Must qualify for credentialing and privileging as a mental health professional and in accordance with quality assurance standards and with concurrence by Office of Mental Health Quality Management.
  • Ability to lift 5 pounds and operate a state vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
  • Experience/skills/knowledge in provision of services, assessment, interviewing techniques.
  • Knowledge of and experience providing evidence-based interventions.
  • Considerable experience working with adults diagnosed with serious & persistent mental illnesses, substance use, and community support programs.
  • Ability to effectively plan, coordinate & manage complex treatment and workflow.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical practices.
  • A high degree of independence, self-motivation & cultural sensitivity will be expected.
  • Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
  • Position is essential and may be called back during crises/disasters/emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management for IPS, Navigate/ICT, Housing, and Peer Support ensuring agency outcomes are met (patient care hours, collaborative documentation, access, DLA-20, Level of Care, etc.).
  • Provide direct services to assigned patients as outlined on EPMS planning stage.
  • Ensure caseload guidelines are met for staff, department and center and that patients receive care based on LOC.
  • Ensure documentation meets federal, state and CARF guidelines.
  • Network with community to educate about mental health, access to treatment and services provided by ABMHC.
  • Complies with Corporate Compliance and Risk Management plans.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a competent, diverse, motivated and productive workforce.
