This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Columbia Area Mental Health Center (CAMHC), Emergency Services, Mobile Crisis, CAMHC #196. As the Mental Health Professional, working under limited supervision, you will perform assessments, C-20's, and crisis services for individuals who present to Emergency/Intake Services and within the community. Provide afterhours coverage which also includes weekend and weekday afterhours.

Requirements

• A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
• Have knowledge of normal and abnormal behavior adjustment techniques.
• Have knowledge of clinical practices and interviewing techniques.
• Have knowledge of legal principles and practices.
• Have knowledge of investigative techniques, principles and practices.
• Have knowledge of methods, principles and practices of clinical counseling services.
• Have knowledge of federal, state and local laws or regulations pertaining to social service programs.
• Have the ability to organize and be flexible in managing crisis', assessments, screenings, and collaborative documentation
• Have the ability to exercise discretion in interpreting and applying established objectives.
• Have the ability to effectively plan, coordinate and manage complex treatment interventions.
• Have the ability to determine treatment, disposition, and level of care.
• Have demonstrated ability to utilize Office of Mental Health (OMH) policy and procedures to meet the needs of individuals, their families and the community.

Nice To Haves

• Two (2) years of post-graduate experience in clinical counseling program.
• Experience working with severe and persistent mentally ill persons.
• Have knowledge of local agencies and facilities.
• Licensure as a LPC, LISW, etc.
• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide an advanced level of crisis management services in accordance with center policies and procedures.
• Provide services in a patient-centered approach to care.
• Complete and submit clinical documentation that is clear, concise, and focuses on patient-driven care.
• Coordinate with key community stakeholders, doctors' offices, other organizations to provide education/information on Mobile Crisis, Columbia Area Mental Health Center (CAMHC), mental illness, and participate in community outreach events.
• Perform C-20's and comprehensive and advanced level mental Health assessments for the purpose of initiating a service plan for each patient that will include but is not limited to: determining provisional diagnosis, identifying the level of service addressing patient needs/goals, barriers to treatment, safety planning, providing evidence-based clinical interventions, and speedy disposition.
• Perform the functions of a center mental health treatment provider in an efficient manner.
• Comply with the Office of Mental Health Compliance Plan and all legal responsibilities and requirements.
• Be able to work as part of a clinical team in order to support the Emergency-Intake Services Clinic, crisis in the community and in the clinic, and provide afterhours for mobile.
• Be able to participate in outreach events monthly.
• Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
