About The Position

The Mental Health Professional (MHP) provides community-based mental health treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery services as a member of Spero’s Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. The MHP provides clinical assessment, treatment planning, individual and group psychotherapy and psychoeducation, rehabilitation services, and evidence-based interventions to individuals experience serious and persistent mental illness, including co-occurring substance use disorders. This position serves as a clinical resource to the multidisciplinary team through consultation, treatment recommendations, and clinical support while maintaining a direct service caseload.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of serious and persistent mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorders, crisis intervention, rehabilitation principles, and community-based behavioral health treatment.
  • Ability to provide psychotherapy, clinical assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based interventions while functioning independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and clinical decision-making skills required.
  • Ability to community effectively in English, maintain confidentiality, and complete documentation accurately and timely.
  • Must meet Minnesota Statutory requirements as a Mental Health Professional and hold current licensure or eligibility for licensure.
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, current auto insurance, and reliable vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT), Motivational Interviewing, harm reduction, and recovery-oriented practices preferred.
  • Experience providing psychotherapy, rehabilitation, behavioral health assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and community-based mental health services preferred.
  • Experience working with adults experiencing serious and persistent mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.
  • LADC credential strongly preferred.
  • Candidates with substantial experience treatment co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders through IDDT, Motivational Interviewing, harm reduction, or similar evidence-based approaches is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy and rehabilitation utilizing evidence-based and empirically supported interventions.
  • Assist with comprehensive assessments, including diagnostic assessments, functional assessments, treatment planning and clinical documentation.
  • Provide consultation regarding symptom presentation, risk assessment, treatment interventions, and clinical decision-making.
  • Deliver integrated treatment for individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, hospital diversion, and transition support services.
  • Provide treatment consultation and on-call clinical support as assigned.
