Job Title: Mental Health Peer Support Counselor - Overnight Division/Program: Joshua Tree: Morongo Oasis Crisis Residential Treatment Starting Compensation: 21.00 USD Per Hour Working Location: Joshua Tree, CA Working Hours/Shift: Tuesday - Saturday 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM Why Join Our Team? Peer Support Specialist Certification preferred, or successful completion of the certification process within one year of employment Must possess a valid CA driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets the company driver eligibility policy How you will make a difference: The position has primary responsibility for using their lived experience and knowledge of the system to provide outreach and engagement, support, advocacy, and direct services to program clients of all age ranges. Peer Support Counselors are people who have lived experience in the mental health, judicial, and/or social service systems in some capacity. They serve as role models, companions, educators and advocates to our clients. The Peer Support Counselors will support clients in moving toward recovery, creating a meaningful role in their life, which is separate from their illness. Division/Program Overview: The Crisis Residential Treatment (CRT) is a short-term voluntary residential facility. Designed to help adult residents, ages 18-59, who experience a psychiatric crisis to safely stabilize, recover, and transition back to community. Services include: 24/7 Program Therapeutic and mental health services Rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services Pre-vocational or vocational counseling Medication evaluation and support services Daily exercise and health/wellness education Crisis intervention Learn more about SBHG at : https://www.starsinc.com/stars-inc/ For Additional Information: [email protected] In accordance with California law, the grade for this position is 17.89 - 25.05. Placement within the grade is determined based on experience, internal equity, and other factors permitted by law.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, etc.) required
