About The Position

Home Care Assistance Barrie is seeking a casual Mental Health Registered Nurse (RN) with three (3) years of experience to join their team in Barrie, Ontario. This role offers flexible shifts and the opportunity to work with a unique and rewarding patient population in a primary health care setting. The Mental Health Nurse (MHN) will be responsible for assessment, nursing diagnosis, care plan development and implementation, crisis intervention, counseling, and life skills programming.

Requirements

• Current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED) Level C. Annual recertification is required.
• Vulnerable sector screen within last 6 months and 2 satisfactory professional references
• Registered Nurses or Registered Psychiatric Nurses
• A Degree in Nursing from a recognized college or university with either a certificate in Mental Health Nursing or certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing from the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA)
• A Registered Nurse license from the provincial or territorial professional college or association in the province of practice
• Certificate of Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or equivalent such as Cardio-pulmonary
• 2 year(s): MHN Experience
• Drivers license and insured vehicle

Responsibilities

• Conducting assessments and reassessments
• Developing, monitoring, and updating plans of care, as assigned
• Providing medication support and administration
• Responding to all emergency situations
• Driving to community and facilities
• Completing reports and communicating with the family about any changes in care
• Meeting the Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario at all times
• All other duties, as assigned

• Competitive pay Hourly Range: $50.00 to $52.00 per hour
