About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team in Oak Brook, Illinois. This part-time position offers a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our patients. The PMHNP will be responsible for conducting psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing mental health conditions, developing treatment plans, managing medications, and providing therapeutic interventions. This role involves close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and requires a strong understanding of various treatment modalities, including Spravato and IV Ketamine treatments. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, a deep sense of empathy, and the ability to maintain accurate patient records and adhere to all healthcare regulations.

Requirements

Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health.
Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
Prior experience in psychiatric or mental health settings highly preferred.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and clinical skills.
Strong compassion and empathy for patients and their families.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
Knowledge of all healthcare regulations and confidentiality protocols, including HIPAA.
Ability to learn and maintain Electronic Health Record system (Tebra is a plus).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications and Google Suite.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in psychiatric or mental health settings.
Familiarity with Tebra Electronic Health Record system.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including medical history and mental status examinations.
Assist in diagnosing mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising psychiatrists.
Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, ensuring effective management of side effects and patient adherence.
Conduct thorough evaluations for Spravato and IV Ketamine treatments, provide patient education, and monitor vital signs.
Provide psychotherapy and counseling to patients, employing evidence-based techniques.
Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies.
Maintain a thorough understanding of all treatment modalities offered by Relief to ensure individualized care and referrals.
Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including Therapists, Social Workers, Providers, Clinical Assistants, and additional support staff.
Maintain accurate and timely patient records, documenting assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes within 48 hours.
Respond to psychiatric emergencies and provide crisis intervention as needed.
Stay updated on advancements in psychiatric medicine and maintain required certifications.
Work in tandem with the Psychiatrist/TMS Provider to conduct follow-ups, motor threshold mapping, and evaluation of new patients for TMS.
