The LVN / LPT provides direct client care including the administration of medications and supervising nursing activities performed by professional and para-professional nursing personnel on the unit. The Crisis Residential Treatment (CRT) is a short-term voluntary residential facility designed to help adults aged 18-59 experiencing a psychiatric crisis safely stabilize, recover, and transition back to the community. Services include a 24/7 program, therapeutic and mental health services, rehabilitation and recovery services (including substance use rehabilitation), pre-vocational or vocational counseling, medication evaluation and support, daily exercise and health/wellness education, and crisis intervention.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have attained the age of 18 years of age
  • Graduation from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing or psychiatric technology required.
  • One (1) year of medication administration experience is required.
  • Valid California LVN or LPT license.
  • Current CPR certification
  • First Aid certification from persons qualified by agencies including but not limited to the American Red Cross.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree, preferred.
  • One (1) year of service experience treating the mentally ill in an inpatient setting, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ordering, preparing, administering, and documenting the administration of medication for clients according to physicians’ orders.
  • Confirming delivery of all ordered medication from the pharmacy on shift worked.
  • Communicating pertinent information verbally and in writing to all team members.
  • Responsible for writing a weekly summary on the client as assigned.
  • Monitoring and maintaining appropriate nursing documentation in the medical record for the shift worked.
