Reasons Eating Disorder Center (Reasons) is seeking caring, compassionate, and hardworking professionals to provide compassionate care to diverse patients in their residential treatment facilities. These facilities are located in intimate six-bed houses in the Pasadena and Arcadia neighborhoods of the Los Angeles area. The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) performs under the direction of a Registered Nurse, providing nursing care to assigned residents and utilizing a basic understanding of psychiatric and personality disorders. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited professional vocational school of nursing or vocational training as a psychiatric technician.
  • Licensed to practice vocational nursing from the State Board of Nursing or Psychiatric Technicians.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with LGBTQIA+ communities.
  • Minimum one (1) year LVN/LPT in psychiatric nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately collect data needed for the appropriate portion of the integrated assessment.
  • Take and record vital signs properly.
  • Observe for, and document changes in resident’s appearance, behavior and ability to work toward treatment plan goals.
  • Communicate changes in resident’s condition to the Director of Nursing.
  • Report signs and symptoms of infection in resident to the Director of Nursing.
