About The Position

Under the supervision of the Office of Diversion and Reentry (ODR) Program Manager and Lead Clinical Supervisor, the Mental Health Lead provides clinical supervision to case managers and other unlicensed staff. The Mental Health Lead ensures sound clinical direction, management, and coordination of mental health, rehabilitation, case management, community outreach and medication support services.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working in a mental health setting (preferred).
  • Familiarity with severely and chronically mentally ill adults in a community setting.
  • Must have or obtain LPS Designation upon hire.
  • Must participate in the 24-7 on call system.
  • Experience in DSM-V, trauma informed care, harm reduction techniques.
  • Must show demonstrated knowledge of Evidence Based Practices and/or the Recovery Model of treatment.
  • Must be highly motivated and a self-starter.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with and relate to a diverse group of people including clients, community, and other staff.
  • Must have excellent administrative and organizational skills.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to manage and supervise professional and para-professional staff while handling multiple tasks and relating to diverse groups of clients.
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, human services or a related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and widely supported internet browsers.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data.
  • Current/active registration with the CA BBS.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Some travel between offices and clients.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with justice-involved individuals is (preferred).
  • Experience working in a non-profit organization (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group clinical support to case managers and other unlicensed staff in adherence with the BBS.
  • Assist with developing and implementing clinical training for ODR program.
  • Provide mental health guidance and support to the ODR teams including completion of any clinical documentation, progress notes, care plans, and/or assessments as needed.
  • Hold a small caseload of clients in addition to providing mental health support for team.
  • Support management regarding clinical support and take the lead with any debriefs as necessary.
  • Support team with individuals who need to be placed on a 5150.
  • Participate in monthly Clinical Consultation Meetings.
  • Participate in team meetings scheduled.
