The Mental Health Counselor provides trauma-informed mental health services to youth in foster care and the families who support them. The role delivers home- and community-based counseling focused on emotional healing, placement stability, and long-term family success. Counselors provide therapy to individuals, couples, and families across age groups, from young children and adolescents to adults and geriatrics, and manage a diverse caseload of 25 billable hours per week. Services may address trauma, co-occurring disorders, addictions, anxiety, depression, and other concerns. Services are delivered in the office, through telehealth, and in community settings, including schools, shelters, residential programs, and clients’ homes. The position also works to expand access for underserved populations by reducing barriers, preventing missed appointments, and building trust in natural environments. The salary range is $60,000–$65,000 annually, depending on licensure status. Unlicensed clinicians receive $60,000 annually with a monthly productivity bonus opportunity; licensed clinicians receive $65,000 annually with a monthly incentive bonus opportunity. A $6,000 sign-on bonus is listed. Employees working 32 or more hours per week receive a full compensation and benefits package. The position offers a hybrid schedule and professional development support, including monthly CEU trainings, supervision hours toward licensure, and $200 annually for additional training.
