About The Position
The Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Student Health Services (SHS) at SIU Carbondale is seeking applications for a Mental Health Coordinator position. This is a 12-month, full-time term appointment. Compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package, professional liability coverage, and a competitive salary. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
Requirements
- By date of hire, earned master’s degree in clinical, counseling, or educational psychology from an APA or CPA accredited program; or an earned master’s degree in social work from a CSWE accredited program; or an earned master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from a CORE accredited program
- Eligible for licensure as a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) or licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Illinois within 24 months from the date of hire.

- Registration as a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) or a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Illinois, or eligibility for licensure in Illinois based on reciprocity in another state.
Responsibilities
- Provide counseling therapy, stress management, and suicidal, homicidal assessment and evaluation to students.
