About The Position

The Mental Health Coordinator oversees mental health services in the facility, providing clinical and administrative supervision and direction to mental health staff. The role also delivers mental health services to inmate patients and consults with facility personnel. The coordinator helps ensure quality mental health care for staff and inmate patients by planning and managing services, coordinating resources, and addressing clinical and administrative concerns.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a behavioral science field.
• Experience in the coordination and administration of mental health service delivery systems.
• Coursework and professional experience indicating knowledge of management and supervision techniques, mental health counseling, group and individual psychotherapy, diagnosis and treatment of major mental disorders, and/or psychological evaluation techniques.
• Licensed to practice psychology or social work in the state by the appropriate state licensing board.
• Must maintain CPR certification and any other required certifications, such as First Aid.
• Must reside in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and manage clinical services provided by mental health staff and allocate resources to meet institutional needs.
• Provide clinical and administrative supervision and direction to mental health staff, including disciplinary counseling and performance evaluations.
• Provide mental health services to inmates in the facility and consult with facility personnel as needed.
• Coordinate with facility administrative staff and maintain confidentiality of inmate information.
• Develop and implement corrective steps necessary to ensure the provision of quality mental health care.
• Notify supervisory personnel of significant clinical or administrative concerns.
