About The Position

Liberty Resources is seeking a motivated Mobile Crisis Mental Health Clinician (Licensed Responder) to join their dynamic and growing human services agency. This role is part of the Mobile Crisis Team, a trained multidisciplinary response team that provides crisis intervention services in various community settings. The team aims to interrupt and ameliorate crisis experiences through culturally and linguistically competent assessments, crisis diversion plans, safety plans, support during and after a crisis, and coordination with other services. The goals include diverting unnecessary hospitalizations and arrests, engaging individuals in services, reducing symptoms, stabilizing individuals, and developing coping mechanisms. The team serves Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, and Oswego counties.

Requirements

  • Licensed or permitted in New York State as one of the following: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, Licensed Behavioral Analyst, Physician, including Psychiatrist and Addictionologist/Addiction Specialist, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Psychoanalyst, Occupational Therapist who meets the qualifications set forth in 42 C.F.R. 440.110(b)(2).
  • Two (2) years of post-graduate mental health experience, including relevant experience providing crisis intervention support, transitional support, and care coordination.
  • Must demonstrate competence in de-escalation and aggression management.
  • Must be willing to participate in all required federal, state, county and agency training including Narcan administration, evidence-based assessments, person-centered and trauma-informed approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to determine the need for further evaluation.
  • Provide psychotherapy and psychosocial rehabilitation counseling services to remediate psychiatric or substance use symptoms, resolve conflict, deescalate crises, monitor for and address high-risk behaviors, maintain stabilization following a crisis episode, and prevent escalation of behavioral health symptoms.
  • Make treatment recommendations and referrals to other behavioral health services as clinically indicated.
  • Completes timely and accurate documentation in line with agency and program standards.
  • Maintains confidentiality and adheres to ethical and legal standards.
