About The Position

Liberty Resources is seeking a motivated Mobile Crisis Mental Health Clinician (Licensed Responder) in Oswego County to join their team. The Mobile Crisis Team is a trained multidisciplinary response team that provides crisis intervention services in various settings, including community locations where individuals live, work, attend school, engage in services, or socialize. The team's goal is to interrupt and ameliorate the crisis experience through culturally and linguistically competent assessments, crisis diversion plans, safety plans, support during and after a crisis, and coordination with other services. The primary goals of the Mobile Crisis Team are diversion of unnecessary hospitalizations and arrests, engagement in services, symptom reduction, stabilization, restoring individuals to a previous level of functioning, and developing coping mechanisms to minimize or prevent future crises. The Mobile Crisis Team strives to build strong relationships and a successful reputation in providing efficient and quality crisis services within a five-county region (Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, and Oswego counties). The Mobile Crisis Clinician will work alongside Mobile Crisis Specialists and Peers, primarily responsible for conducting clinical assessments and providing crisis intervention services. The Licensed Clinician/Licensed Responder will respond to individuals in crisis telephonically or in-person, or via telehealth as needed. Additional follow-up services may be provided depending on the level of need. This is a per diem position with flexible scheduling options.

Requirements

Licensed or permitted in New York State as one of the following: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, Licensed Behavioral Analyst, Physician, including Psychiatrist and Addictionologist/Addiction Specialist, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Psychoanalyst, Occupational Therapist who meets the qualifications set forth in 42 C.F.R. 440.110(b)(2).
Two (2) years of post-graduate mental health experience, including relevant experience providing crisis intervention support, transitional support, and care coordination.
Must demonstrate competence in de-escalation and aggression management.
Must be willing to participate in all required federal, state, county and agency training including Narcan administration, evidence-based assessments, person-centered and trauma-informed approaches.

Responsibilities

Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to determine the need for further evaluation.
Provide psychotherapy and psychosocial rehabilitation counseling services to remediate psychiatric or substance use symptoms, resolve conflict, deescalate crises, monitor for and address high-risk behaviors, maintain stabilization following a crisis episode, and prevent escalation of behavioral health symptoms.
Make treatment recommendations and referrals to other behavioral health services as clinically indicated.
Completes timely and accurate documentation in line with agency and program standards.
Maintains confidentiality and adheres to ethical and legal standards.
