About The Position

Liberty Resources is seeking a full-time Mental Health Clinician for its Mobile Crisis team in Onondaga County. The role works alongside Mobile Crisis Responders and Peers and is primarily responsible for conducting clinical assessments and providing crisis intervention services. The clinician responds to people in crisis by phone, in person, or through telehealth as needed, with follow-up services provided according to the individual’s level of need. The Mobile Crisis Team is a trained multidisciplinary team that provides crisis intervention in community settings where people live, work, attend school, receive services, or socialize. Services include culturally and linguistically competent assessment, crisis diversion, safety and relapse prevention planning, support during and after a crisis, and coordination with and referrals to health, social, and other services, including peer and family supports. The team aims to divert unnecessary hospitalizations and arrests, engage people in services, reduce symptoms, stabilize individuals, restore functioning, and help develop coping mechanisms to prevent future crises. It serves Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, and Oswego counties. This field-based, community-facing role involves regular travel and in-person engagement in a variety of settings. The work is fast-paced and emotionally dynamic, requiring flexibility, composure, quick decision-making, and schedule adaptation. Team members collaborate closely and may work with emergency services, families, and multi-agency partners as situations evolve. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, holidays, or other non-standard hours based on program needs. Work locations are not controlled or maintained by the agency and may include private homes, shelters, public spaces, and outdoor environments, with stairs, uneven terrain, limited accessibility, or other physical challenges. The role may involve extended periods of physical activity.
