About The Position

Summit Oaks Hospital, a 126-bed private acute care hospital and chemical dependency treatment center, is seeking a Mental Health Associate (MHA) for its night shift. The MHA will function as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, role modeling, and monitoring for patients ranging in age from preschool through geriatrics, depending on the nursing unit. Current nursing units include adult psychiatric, adult dual diagnosis, child and adolescent, detox, and rehabilitation. Other MHA duties include taking vital signs, conducting educational groups, and responding to codes. This is a full-time position, working three nights a week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with rotating weekends. Requirements

B.S. in a health-related field with one year of psychiatric experience, preferably in an inpatient setting; or two years of experience in a psychiatric setting with evidence of participation in continuing education related to mental health preferred.
Psychiatric inpatient experience for Adults, Adolescents and Dual populations preferred.
Must maintain CPR and First Aid, Verbal De-escalation and Handle with Care Certifications (provided by the Hospital).

Nice To Haves

Prior experience working with patients with behavioral health or addictions diagnosis.
Evidence of participation in continuing education related to mental health.

Responsibilities
