About The Position

Silver Lake Hospital of Newark, NJ is seeking to hire an experienced Group Therapy Counselor with behavioral health experience to provide group therapy for adults who experience acute mental health symptoms and substance use. Silver Lake Hospital's state of the art acute inpatient dual diagnosis program provides inpatient treatment for adults who experience acute mental health symptoms and substance use. We are looking for compassionate, warm, caring and highly professional health care individuals who have a passion for helping others.

Requirements

Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) required.
Experience working with psychiatric and substance abuse patients.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Facilitates group therapy sessions, providing a therapeutic space where individuals can share their experiences, gain support, and develop coping strategies within a structured and safe environment.
Ensures that the activities group schedule is followed and meets regulations.
