About The Position

As a Mental/Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), you will provide for the physical and emotional needs of the clients assigned to your cottage and facilitate a healthy group living experience. You will also participate in a multi-disciplinary treatment team in the care of clients. This position is a great start to gain experience in the mental health/social services fields!

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalency
• Class E driver's license with good driving record
• Strong customer service focus
• Excellent time management skills
• Oral communication skills
• Written communication skills
• Proficiency in Word applications
• Proficiency in Excel applications
• Proficiency in e-mail applications
• Must be 21 years old to apply
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical
• Ability to pass a background check

Responsibilities

• Provide for the physical and emotional needs of clients
• Provide meals and snacks to clients
• Assist clients with personal care
• Monitor client medication
• Intervene in crisis situations
• Facilitate a healthy group living experience
• Create a positive and supportive environment for clients
• Manage conflict among clients
• Enforce house rules
• Participate in a multi-disciplinary treatment team in the care of clients
• Attend treatment team meetings
• Provide input on treatment plans
• Implement treatment plans
