Men's Buying Internship (Summer 2027)
About The Position
The Men's Buying Intern studies and assists with basic office and buying duties, including the fit process, filing, organization, vendor correspondence, report reading, product development, product reviews, and manager meetings. The role involves learning the Men's Merchandising job orientation and education guide and the steps of the buying process, including writing purchase orders and following the approval process. The intern assists with product selection and placing buys across a variety of categories, merchandise paperwork, and related preparation and follow-up. The position requires professional communication and collaboration with vendors, internal teammates, and other colleagues while contributing to customer service and a positive team spirit. Special projects and other duties may be assigned. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
- Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations as applicable.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate understanding of Buckle's image, philosophy, and goals to promote them to Guests and teammates.
- Develop familiarity with the Men's Merchandising job orientation and education guide.
- Use basic office and computer programs and store knowledge.
- Correspond with vendors and sales representatives to learn daily communication practices.
- Build multi-category awareness and communicate and work with a variety of teammates.
- Study the buying process, including fit, vendor correspondence, report reading, product development and reviews, purchase order writing, and approvals.
- Assist with organizing and filing merchandise-related paperwork.
- Assist with preparation and follow-up for product selection and placing buys across a variety of categories.
- Maintain professional communication and work closely with internal teammates.
- Perform duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive team spirit.
- Complete special projects and other assigned duties.
