About The Position

At Frederick Living Communities, the Memory Support Nurse Aide provides direct care to residents in Aspen while promoting independence and person-centered care. This role ensures residents’ physical, emotional, and social needs are met in a safe and supportive environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
CPR/First Aid certification required
Medication course certification required
Minimum of 6 hours of dementia education annually
Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and comprehension
Demonstrates respect, integrity, compassion, and excellence
Commitment to person-centered care practices
Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive relationships
Flexible schedule with willingness to work extra hours as needed

Nice To Haves

Prior experience caring for older adults with cognitive impairments preferred

Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and mobility to and from meals and activities
Support residents with eating and drinking, including meal selection, cueing, and hands-on assistance as needed
Offer snacks and hydration throughout the day
Provide redirection and de-escalation techniques for residents with cognitive impairments
Record and report resident eating habits and vital signs to the coordinator or charge nurse
Encourage resident participation in leisure activities, social events, walking programs, or other therapeutic activities
Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and death procedures
Maintain resident records accurately and in a timely manner
Administer medications as defined by the medication procedure and physicians’ orders
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents
Change bed linens and wash residents’ laundry as needed
Respond promptly to resident requests and emergencies, including those from family, visitors, or staff
Monitor resident location and notify the Nurse Supervisor/PC Manager if a resident cannot be located
Follow proper procedures during emergencies and obtain additional assistance when necessary
Work all assigned tours of duty
Abide by the organization’s code of conduct
Perform other related duties as assigned
