About The Position

Arrow Senior Living is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Memory Care Support Partner to join our team at Barrymore in Kansas City, MO. This full-time role involves creating human connections with residents, understanding their interests and abilities, and setting the stage for a successful day. You will partner with residents throughout their daily lives, document their care, and assist with orienting new team members in memory care neighborhoods. We are looking for individuals who are empathetic, patient, and possess a positive attitude, with the ability to communicate effectively in English and basic computer skills. The role requires physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be criminally cleared.

Requirements

• At least eighteen (18) years of age.
• High school diploma, or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English with residents.
• Positive and energetic attitude.
• Computer skills to be able to print documents and enter information about residents.
• Must be active as this role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, as well as assisting persons after a fall.
• Must be criminally cleared.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for understanding the importance of empathy and creating human connection with residents during their most vulnerable moments.
• Discover residents’ interests, abilities, and what makes each resident who they are.
• Collaborate to create appropriate engagement plans and implement strategies with patience to ensure success.
• Be responsible for setting the stage for a successful day, from preparing dining rooms to setting up libraries and preparing resident rooms.
• Partnering with residents to achieve all facets of daily life from the moment they wake to the moment they go to sleep.
• Be excellent at documenting resident care and changes in condition.
• Assist with orientation of team members assigned to memory care neighborhoods.
