About The Position

This role focuses on providing compassionate care to a client with memory loss, aiming to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. It emphasizes building a genuine relationship with the client and becoming a trusted part of their daily routine. The position involves supporting the client through their afternoon and evening routines, offering companionship, memory care support, and assistance with daily activities, all while ensuring their dignity, connection, and respect. The work environment is a home setting with cats, distinct from a fast-paced facility.

Requirements

At least 1 year of caregiving experience in a facility or with an in-home care agency.
Experience caring for someone with Alzheimer's, dementia, or another memory-related condition.
High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance.
Authorization to work in the U.S.
Three professional references.
TB test within 30 days of hire.
Excellent communication skills.
A patient, compassionate personality and a genuine heart for older adults.
Comfortable working in a home with cats.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and assistance with daily routines.
Offer companionship and meaningful conversation.
Provide memory care support with patience, reassurance, and gentle redirection.
Assist with meals, snacks, and afternoon/evening routines.
Encourage and engage the client throughout the shift.
Assist with maintaining a safe and comfortable environment.
Support the client's transition from the afternoon into their evening routine.
Provide a reassuring and supportive presence for both the client and their family.
Slow down, be present, and meet the person where they are.
