About The Position

The Village At Summerville is seeking a compassionate and creative Memory Support Life Enrichment Coordinator to plan and lead engaging, person-centered activities for residents in our Memory Support community. This role uses the Montessori approach to support our residents and promote holistic well-being through meaningful, daily engagement. The coordinator will plan, organize, and lead activities promoting the seven dimensions of wellness, implement Montessori-based programming for residents with dementia and cognitive impairments, and coordinate activities during weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays. They will personalize programming based on resident needs and family input, support new resident orientation, and teach, coach, and model the Montessori approach. The role also involves managing activity supplies and budget, driving the community bus for outings, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Human Services, Social Science, Behavioral Science, or other related field.
  • Certified Dementia Practitioner credential, or similar credential in dementia care.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in activities in a Memory Support community
  • Valid South Carolina driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and lead engaging Memory Support activities promoting the seven dimensions of wellness (physical, intellectual, social, spiritual, emotional, environmental, vocational)
  • Implement Montessori-based programming for residents with dementia and cognitive impairments
  • Coordinate and deliver activities during weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Personalize activity programming based on resident needs, interests, and input from families
  • Support new resident orientation and ensure a smooth transition into the household
  • Understand Montessori approach and assume leadership role in teaching, coaching, and modeling approach
  • Manage inventory of activity supplies and track monthly budget spending
  • Drive the community bus for resident outings and serve as backup driver as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
