About The Position

The Memory Care Director (LPN) manages and implements the programs, philosophies and standards for the Memory Care Center.

Requirements

• Long-term care experience strongly preferred
• Understanding social work principles, psychosocial assessments and interventions.
• Strong understanding of person-centered approach to resident care.
• Experience and knowledge of dementia related behaviors, strategies and best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work or in a human services field required.
• Strong passion for geriatric advocacy and commitment to senior care excellence.
• Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse license in the state of Indiana.

• Previous social services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages and implements the programs, philosophies and standards for the Memory Care Center.
• Train, observe and redirect staff through initial education and one-on-one education of the Alzheimer disease process.
• Empathetic engagement with residents and families.
• Clear, effective communication with interdisciplinary teams.
• Conflict resolution and mediation skills.
• Creating a comforting and engaging atmosphere for our residents.
• Works with and promotes collaboration among departments, professionals, consultants, and organizations including government regulatory agencies.
• The ability to work towards a common goal of excellent care for our residents.
