Our Memory Care unit is designed to provide specialized care for residents with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other memory impairments, ensuring their daily needs are met while maintaining dignity and respect. Position Summary: We are seeking a person who lives and breathes dementia care and to help lead our dedicated team in providing exceptional care to our residents with memory challenges. As the Memory Care Director, you will oversee all aspects of the Memory Care program, ensuring the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of our residents. This role is pivotal in fostering a nurturing environment and leading a team of care professionals to deliver top-tier services.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other cognitive impairments is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of person-centered memory care programming and dementia best practices.
  • Proven ability to create engaging, meaningful experiences that enhance quality of life and foster purpose, dignity, and connection.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a compassionate, resident-centered approach.
  • A genuine passion for serving seniors and creating exceptional experiences for residents and their families.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Social Worker, Activities Professional, Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Dementia Practitioner, or similar credential is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage daily operations of the Memory Care program, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise Memory Care staff, ensuring they are well-trained in person-centered care and dementia-specific techniques.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for families, providing education, support, and regular communication regarding their loved ones’ care.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care programs, continuously seeking to improve the quality of life for residents.
  • Provide ongoing education and training to staff in dementia care and memory support best practices.
  • Ensure the community complies with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
