About The Position

Fisher Island Club is seeking a full-time Membership Assistant to join their team. This role involves providing administrative and sales support for membership, including interacting with prospects, answering questions, and giving club tours in the absence of the Membership Director. The Membership Assistant will play a key role in daily interactions with members, vendors, and staff, aiming to achieve departmental and club objectives. The position requires maintaining efficient operations of the Club Membership office while adhering to strict confidentiality with highly sensitive information. The ideal candidate will be a hospitality professional with experience in membership and a passion for exceeding expectations in an upscale resort environment.

Requirements

  • Must be professional, have the ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook with accurate typing abilities.
  • Effective use of time and efficient multi-tasker; flexible in work habits and work schedule.
  • Ability to operate all office equipment.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, occasional evenings or holidays may be required as needed.
  • Three years of previous related administrative experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospitality professional with experience in Membership.
  • Passion for hospitality and genuinely exceeding expectations.
  • Two years of college preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer telephones, return calls and reply to correspondences and faxes in a timely and professional manner.
  • Responds to inquiries via email, phone, or in person to support daily operations.
  • Assist with members’ inquiries and provides information and direction to appropriate departments.
  • Schedule appointments and take messages for follow through.
  • Connects with Member Relations Manager to maintain accurate records and files and orders office supplies as needed.
  • Manage paper and electronic office files and office supplies.
  • Creates, maintains, and updates the membership files.
  • Adheres to strict confidentiality concerning all Club related matters.
  • Communicates with co-workers, management, members, guests, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conforms with and abide by all regulations, policies, safety rules and guidelines, work procedures, and instructions.
  • In the absence of Membership Director, meets with prospects, obtain information, answers question and gives club tours.
