About The Position

The Member Team Lead position at Sam's Club involves assisting management in supervising associates within a designated area. Key responsibilities include assigning duties, providing feedback and training, ensuring compliance with company policies, and supporting the Open Door Policy. This role actively participates in the recruitment, hiring, scheduling, promotion, coaching, and evaluation of associates. A core function is to communicate and support membership by providing information on various membership types, programs, and benefits to both current and prospective members, processing memberships, encouraging renewals, and engaging in sales and marketing activities to meet membership goals. The Team Lead is also responsible for delivering excellent member service, which includes assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, guiding members on self-service technology, and facilitating transactions at registers or self-checkout. Operational oversight of the assigned area includes managing claims and returns, organizing merchandise, identifying shrink and damages, maintaining cart availability, and ensuring parking lot cleanliness. The role also encompasses accounting duties such as maintaining records, processing transactions, preparing deposits, overseeing Cash Fund Transfers, and investigating discrepancies while ensuring confidentiality. Furthermore, the Team Lead is expected to develop and implement business processes, collaborate with various partners, monitor progress, and identify improvement opportunities. The position emphasizes demonstrating and promoting compliance with company ethics and integrity, leading and participating in teams, fostering a culture of belonging, and continuously striving for excellence by embracing differences, building relationships, and driving improvements. Requirements

  • 6 months retail experience including operating front-end equipment (for example, cash register)
  • 6 months customer service experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Responsibilities

  • Assists management with the supervision of associates in assigned area of responsibility by assigning duties to associates

  • Creating and interpreting financial analysis reports
  • Assisting with accounting-related investigations

  • Investigating overages and shortages in cash register drawers and accounting office
  • Maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of financial and personal information
  • Develops, communicates, and implements processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners
