About The Position

Mortgage Center is hiring a Member Solutions Counselor in Southfield, Michigan. This hybrid position requires one day per week on-site. The counselor works with delinquent members to provide early intervention counseling, understand their financial circumstances, and develop workable repayment arrangements. The role also involves collaborating with investor credit unions and their collection staff, resolving issues, and keeping relevant parties informed. The position offers opportunities to learn other areas of mortgage default, make timely decisions, and use empathy and perseverance to address challenging situations.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of collections or customer service experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly regulated, deadline-driven environment.
• Working knowledge of FHA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae, and loss mitigation guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain open communication with delinquent members and provide early intervention counseling.
• Work closely with investor credit unions and maintain positive working relationships with their collection staff.
• Address issues and keep all relevant parties informed while working toward resolutions.
• Make daily outbound calls to review members’ financial status and develop workable repayment arrangements.
• Develop appropriate resolutions that meet the requirements of all parties involved.
