About The Position

Gain meaningful work experience supporting the daily operations of YWCA St. Paul’s Member Services Desk where you will welcome members, provide excellent customer service, help maintain facility standards, and assist with member needs. You will develop valuable professional skills in a mission-driven nonprofit setting while reporting to the Director of Health and Fitness Center Operations.

Requirements

  • University of St. Thomas- MN Students ONLY
  • Applicants for this position must qualify for Federal or State Work Study
  • At least 6 months of experience in customer service/sales.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service to members and guests.
  • Comfort and self-confidence in engaging prospective members.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to work with and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and self-motivation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn and work on databases.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
  • Reliability in attendance and responsibility.
  • Student employees must provide their own transportation to the site.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist members, guests, and program participants in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answer phone calls, respond to questions, and provide accurate information on programs, memberships, and services
  • Manage member check-ins, account access, sales transactions, and maintain accurate records and reports
  • Promote and process sales of memberships, services, and proshop items
  • Support administrative tasks such as filing, printing, creating signage
  • Monitor and assist with facility cleanliness, restock supplies, and report safety or maintenance concerns
  • Assist with locker/towel service tracking and inventory
  • Address member concerns promptly and help promote participation in programs and services
  • Open or close the facility as assigned
  • Perform other duties as needed
  • Align with and promote YWCA’s mission, vision, core values, guiding principles, equity statement, commitment to health equity and contributing to agency communications.
