About The Position

The Member Services Receptionist (MSR) plays an essential role in ensuring best-in-class service to BCBSWY's providers, and members of the general public. This role involves showcasing customer service skills in a professional office and call center environment. The MSR will help people by responding to questions, researching issues, assisting with payments, and connecting them with necessary resources. The role requires learning BCBSWY's products and services, dedication to customer service, handling in-person contact with individuals who may be experiencing emotional situations, comfort in accessing and utilizing multiple systems, and applying sound judgment for escalations. BCBSWY's Member Service Centers are equipped with software-supported call answering and payment systems. Employees are provided scheduled breaks and meal times to ensure continuous high-quality service. As a BCBSWY employee, the MSR is expected to serve as a "Brand Ambassador" within the local community and/or geographical region.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience with accessing multiple database systems is helpful.
  • Commitment to excellent service above all else.
  • Confirmation of Wyoming residency, intent to become a Wyoming resident, or reasonable commuter distance if Colorado resident.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to member and provider inquiries.
  • Research and resolve member and provider issues.
  • Assist with payments.
  • Connect members and providers with appropriate resources.
  • Serve as a "Brand Ambassador" within the local community and/or geographical region.
  • Handle in-person contact with people who may be experiencing emotional situations.
  • Access and utilize multiple systems to respond to and research inquiries.
  • Apply solid judgment as to when to escalate issues if needed.
