About The Position

The Member Service Support Representative provides a superior member experience by greeting members, responding to inquiries and promoting the products and services of the credit union while providing administrative support to the various departments and/or branch. This role is a full-time, permanent position located at the Kenaston branch, which operates on Saturdays on a rotational basis.

Requirements

Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
Previous customer service experience
Demonstrated desire to serve others in a friendly and professional manner
Ability to identify and willingness to act upon sales and service opportunities
Basic understanding of account opening and credit granting functions
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
Ability to work in fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure
Ability to prioritize using sound judgment to make timely and effective decisions
Knowledge of Access Credit Union’s products and services
Ability to follow standardized policies and procedures
Knowledge of risk management within the financial industry
Proficient computer skills

Nice To Haves

Business Administration or other post-secondary education would be considered an asset

Responsibilities

Greet members and potential members, responding to inquiries on basic credit union products and services.
Responsible for member problems and resolutions wherever possible, referring more complex issues to the appropriate person or department.
Refer members, in person or via telephone, to appropriate staff members and departments as necessary.
Solicit new members and foster business development through service excellence, product knowledge and teamwork.
Provide clerical support and assistance to the department or branch staff.
Process all required reports and documentation efficiently and accurately ensuring deadlines are met.
Coordinate resources and supplies to ensure Access standards are met.
Maintain open communication and cooperation with other staff to ensure a friendly and efficient work environment.
Actively look for referral opportunities for both lending and wealth teams.
Participate in and contribute to an entrepreneurial environment to seek out new business and referral opportunities that support the branch and organization goals.
Pro-actively work to retain and expand existing member relationships, while pursuing new sources of business.
Differentiate between credit union and competitor products and services in terms of member needs.
Act as an ambassador for the credit union by being visible in the community through professional and personal involvement in various community groups and activities.
